The North East Heritage Panel of the Institution of Civil Engineers is a group of civil engineers who are interested in the history of the profession, and have published regional guides and leaflets on the subject.
North East panel members also link in with the national Panel for Historical Engineering Works (PHEW). They identify historical engineering works that are worthy of recording and, in some cases, preserving for posterity and record on the online database.
Heritage walks describing some of Newcastle's historic buildings, structures and celebrities are also provided. Please contact Michael Taylor on:firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on these talks, walks and other aspects of the panel's work.
New committee members with an interest in historical engineering, whether in employment or retired are welcomed. If you are interested and want to know more about how to get involved or would like further information please contact Michael Taylor.
