The Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust is working on an urgent project to acquire the Ryder & Yates office in Killingworth.
This small building is one of the most important surviving post war buildings in the region and has recently been listed Grade 2 by English Heritage.
There is clearly potential to convert the building into a number of uses once the urgent repairs have been tackled. Once repaired the building has a viable future.
The Trust needs time to raise the necessary funds and is proposing to lease the building in the short term in order to save this important piece of history.
This campaign will fund the initial feasibility study and will cover design, cost, structural and legal advice.
