The annual Historic England Angel Awards, founded by Andrew Lloyd Webber and supported by the Telegraph, celebrate the efforts of local people who have saved historic buildings and places. This year under the category "Best Rescue of a Historic Industrial Building or Site", 4 projects have been shortlisted. 2 of these projects are by members of the Tyne & Wear Heritage Forum which is fantastic news.

The 2 projects that have been selected are the Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project Steering Group for the Rescue of Dukesfield Arches and the Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust (TWBPT) for the Rescue of Blackfell Hauler House.

Further information is on the Historic England website here

You can vote for the overall winner and the project that receives the most votes will be presented with an award at the Historic England Angel Awards ceremony in London on 7 September 2015.
