The Northumberland & Newcastle Society have just announced their latest Events Programme. There are 3 fantastic events to look forward to.
They are :
"Creatif Alternative Energy Futures" by Prof. Harry Bradbury. Wed 16th Sept at 7pm - Venue - Morpeth Rugby Club
Prof Bradbury is Founder & Chairman of both Five-Quarter, an unconventional gas company and Creatif Group, a renewable technology company. As a scientist, he was a Yale University Professor and Founder of a Yale-Harvard-Cornell Foundation
"The Life of Newcastle's Own Renaissance Man - Colin Veitch" by Dr Christopher Goulding. Tues 20th Oct 7pm - Venue - West Jesmond British Legion
This talk will look at the remarkable life of Newcastle's own Renaissance man, Colin Veitch (1881-1938). Probably the greatest ever player to take the field for Newcastle United. Off the pitch involving himself with politics, trade unionism, journalism and serving his country in WW1. He also co-foundedthe People's Theatre.
"Walking Around Northumbria, Walking Around My Father" by Michael Chaplin. Thurs 19th Nov at 6.30pm - Venue - Newcastle School For Boys
In 1951 Sid Chaplin was commissioned to write The Lakes to Tyneside. Chaplin sought to pin down what made his home patch so special. In the summer of 2014 playwright & screenwriter Michael Chaplin followed in his father's footsteps and made a journey of his own in a series of 6 walks
